At the SuperHatch Car Care Clinic event, held at Zwartkops on 13 November Mododana (Mydi) Mfana came sixth overall in Class B and Baksi Komane came third overall in Class X. Great achievement from both boys. from Squadra Corse.
“Mydi competed in Class B and while he’s normally in Class C, we felt confident that he was ready for Class B this time and he didn’t disappoint. He qualified fourth so he started in that position for race 1. Unfortunately, he ran into technical difficulties with the car and was unable to finish the race,” says Squadra Corse mentor and coach, Keagan Masters.
“As the drivers moved onto the grid for race 2, the rain started. This was Mydi’s first time racing in rainy conditions but he managed to keep the car on the track and showed really good pace. He progressed through most of the field to third overall, including the Class A drivers, and finished second in Class for this race and sixth overall in the division for the day, which is a superb achievement given his first event as a class B driver and the technical issues he faced,” says Masters.
Komane raced in Car Care Clinic 111, where races are managed based on what the car is capable of. “Baksi was placed in Class X, together with another four other drivers. He qualified third in class and 23rd overall. In both races, he came third in his class, and 17th overall for the day. He drove really well, keeping it clean and pushing his car to its limits, even though it wasn’t as fast as many of the other cars. We are really proud of both boys for their superb driving at the event,” says Masters.
